WHY THE U.P. OUTDOOR SUMMIT?
The UP Outdoor Summit was created to bring together outdoor recreation advocates, share research findings, and foster collaboration opportunities to promote a healthy outdoor recreation ecosystem within our region.
Joe Thiel, Innovate Marquette CEO
The ORIAN Outdoor Summit marks a transformative moment for our region. We’re uniting community leaders, innovators, and outdoor enthusiasts to shape the future of responsible recreation. Through the presentation of our ORIAN initiative findings and the trail electrification study, we are establishing the groundwork for a more advanced, integrated outdoor experience—one that fosters longevity, progress, and economic opportunity while maintaining the essence of our natural spaces.
Phil Britton, ORIAN Committee Facilitator
Most of us choose to live here because of what's outside our front door. The UP is special because there are so many options to recreate in nature, and this Summit plans to bring advocates from this wide range of activities together to build new connections, strengthen existing relationships, and seed future collaborations. Ultimately, the UP Outdoor Summit will be a celebration of all that we love about this place and an exploration of what the path ahead may hold.
